Amb. Dr. Edet Umoh

Founder/Executive Director

Amb. Dr. Edet Umoh is a distinguished humanitarian and environmental advocate, known for his selfless service to humanity and his dedication to promoting sustainable development. He has earned numerous certifications from international agencies and was awarded a doctorate degree by the United Nations Polac in recognition of his contributions.

Dr. Edet Umoh recently completed a certification course on the health effects of climate change through Harvard University, making him a certified climate health expert. This certification underscores his commitment to understanding and addressing the multifaceted impacts of climate change on human health.

As a nature lover and United Nations ambassador, Dr. Edet’s foundation plays a pivotal role in providing educational materials to underprivileged pupils, supporting individuals with disabilities, widows, and orphans, and supplying medical equipment to health centers. The foundation actively engages in climate change mitigation efforts, including awareness campaigns, tree planting initiatives, and climate and environmental education.

In addition to his humanitarian work, Dr. Edet is the founder of Platinum Kids, a Canada-based clothing store, and Editel Communications in Toronto. His entrepreneurial ventures further demonstrate his commitment to social impact and community development.

Dr. Edet has received numerous awards and commendations for his unwavering commitment to promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His leadership and vision continue to inspire and drive positive change in communities around the world.

Amina Muhammad Sani Minal

Amina is a girl-child activist. She provide taught leadership, delivers impact full results and engages in local/international advocacy action to advance the right and empowerment of girl child. Amina is also an environmentalist, climate change activist, tech enthusiasts. Her global exposure has given her a unique insight into girls interaction, enabling to develop truly effective ways to increase girls engagement in the content, message & experience they want to deliver. She is also known for her ability to enhance the girls performance in life, in business and on stage helping to concrete a helping future for all.

Ambassador Umar Farouk Tahir

Head of Research and Planning

Ambassador Farouk, hailing from Kano State, is a distinguished community developer, non-profit actor, youth, and social activist with nearly a decade of extensive experience in the research field. His deep commitment to research and strategic planning has significantly contributed to various renowned organizations.

  • Personal Assistant on NGOs, CSOs, and Youth to the Nigeria Minister of Agriculture: Leveraged research expertise to support youth engagement and agricultural development.
  • Member of Youth Parliament: Helped shape legislative initiatives for Nigerian youth.
  • Member, Africa Youth for Development Commission: Conducted research to inform youth empowerment programs.
  • Secretary, Directorate of Art, Culture & Tourism, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN): Promoted cultural heritage and tourism development.

Currently, as the Head of Research and Planning in Capi, Ambassador Farouk leads a dedicated team of six staff members. Together, they form the Research and Planning Committee, driving forward comprehensive research projects and strategic planning initiatives that align with our mission and vision.

Abubakar Sadiq Ishaq (FNPA)

Head of Logistics and Communication

Abubakar is a passionate advocate for social justice, a youth and human rights activist, a dedicated researcher, a prolific writer, and a radical optimist. He currently serves as the Head of Logistics and Communication at Compassionate Advocacy for the Poor Initiative, where he leads a team of seven professionals in coordinating the organization’s logistics and communication strategies. In his role, Abubakar oversees all aspects of logistical planning and communication efforts, ensuring that the organization’s operations run smoothly and its message reaches a wide audience effectively. His expertise in communication is complemented by his logistical skills, which he utilizes to coordinate and conduct need assessments in various communities, representing the organization with diligence and professionalism.

Abubakar’s extensive background includes:

Abubakar’s team is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that amplify the organization’s mission and the voices of the communities they serve. He collaborates closely with his team to ensure effective logistical coordination for community assessments and interventions, enhancing the organization’s outreach and impact.
 
Under his leadership, the logistics and communication department has achieved significant milestones, including improved operational efficiency, enhanced stakeholder engagement, and successful execution of community-based projects and assessments.
 

Rukaiya M. Danbuwa

Head of Program/Climate Change

Rukaiya M. Danbuwa is an accomplished leader in program management and climate change advocacy. She currently serves as the Head of Program Management and Climate Change Director at Compassionate Advocacy for the Poor Initiative, where she oversees a diverse portfolio of initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

Rukaiya’s extensive experience includes:
 
  • Director of Health and Environment, Nigerian Youth Congress: Spearheaded health and environmental initiatives, impacting numerous communities.
  • Vice-Chair of Violence Based on Gender, @hcrff.org: Advocated for gender equality and addressed gender-based violence.
  • Advisory Board Member, UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration: Provided strategic guidance on global ecosystem restoration efforts.
  • Formal Youth Representative, UN Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY): Represented youth perspectives in international forums.
  • Member, UN Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY): Contributed to youth engagement and participation in global decision-making processes.

With a strong background in environmental chemistry, capacity building, advocacy, and women’s rights, Rukaiya has developed and led youth-driven projects benefiting over 7,000 youths across various communities. Her work emphasizes the intersection of gender, climate change, and youth engagement, driving innovative projects that build leadership, increase awareness, and address social challenges.
 
Rukaiya is a prominent promoter of global cooperation, with a focus on women empowerment and gender equality. Her efforts have significantly contributed to human rights, peace, and non-violence initiatives.
 
In her current role, she leads a dedicated team committed to creating impactful programs that integrate gender considerations and promote sustainable development, environmental health, and climate action.

Nathan Ndanusom

Assistant Program Manager

Nathan Ndanusom is a dedicated community developer and human rights activist, currently serving as the Assistant Program Manager at Compassionate Advocacy for the Poor Initiative. In his role, Nathan supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs aimed at uplifting marginalized communities and advocating for social justice.

Nathan’s passion for community development is evident in his commitment to grassroots initiatives that address critical issues such as poverty, education, and healthcare. His work involves close collaboration with local leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to design and execute projects that have a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families. 
As a human rights activist, Nathan is deeply involved in efforts to promote and protect the rights of vulnerable populations. He actively participates in campaigns and advocacy efforts that aim to ensure equal access to opportunities and resources for all, regardless of background or circumstance. 
Nathan’s dedication to social justice and community empowerment has made him a valuable asset to the Compassionate Advocacy for the Poor Initiative, where he continues to contribute to the organization’s mission of fostering sustainable development and advocating for the rights of the poor.

Vitalis Ekpang Oga

Finance Secretary

Vitalis Ekpang Oga holds an excellent track record of accomplishment in various Managerial positions, both as a team member and as an individual.

He holds a B. Sc Degree in Economics, Security and Forensic Studies Certificate, a College of Detectives Investigation and Legal Studies Certificate and Advance Peace and Reconciliation Centre Certificate all in Nigeria.
He has over 7 years post qualification experience which include working as a research and training manager in a high profile Management Energy Company. (Petrocoms Energy Ltd) Vitalis also spent over 9 years working in the Banking sector where he rose and held the position of Head of Retail and Customer Service Manager in various branches until he was saddled with the responsibility of overseeing 3 branches with 72-man staff strength.

Vitalis is currently the Finance Secretary at CAPI.

From logo designs to website layouts, Joseph skill set encompasses a wide range of design disciplines, making him a valuable asset to any creative team.

Vivien Umoru

Legal & Corporate Governance

Vivien Umoru is a distinguished legal and corporate governance professional, renowned for her exceptional track record across diverse industries, including Real estate, Energy, Construction and Finance. Vivien has over ten years of management experience, in providing strategic oversight to cross-functional teams, driving organizational success and over 15years Legal Practice.

She is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators; A Certified Microsoft Digital Media Marketer She is also a Google AdWords Certified Professional with experience in Customer Experience and Social Media Marketing. She also holds a Business Risk Champion.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Abuja and Barrister at Law (B.L) from the Nigerian Law School.

Vivien held pivotal roles in all legal facets, including Contract and Documentation management, Dispute Resolution, Company Secretariate and Regulatory Compliance.

Nwoko Kingsley Nwanne

Security Advisor and Emergency Response Coordinator

Kingsley is a seasoned security and emergency response professional with nearly a decade of experience. In addition to his extensive educational background, which includes a Master’s Degree in International Law from the University of Calabar, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana, a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Ghana, and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Public Policy and Strategic Management from the African Center for Strategic Studies and the National Institute of Management, Kingsley is deeply committed to serving his community and honoring the memory of his late mother.

As the Founder and driving force behind the Buno Beatrice Nwoko Foundation, Kingsley channels his passion for philanthropy into supporting widows in need. Inspired by his mother’s legacy and driven by a desire to alleviate the suffering of others, Kingsley’s charitable work serves as a testament to his compassion and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate.
